I was once just a crooked tree at the foot of a cliff, dedicating thousands of years to my spiritual cultivation.
Occasionally, I'd catch some unfortunate souls who tumbled from above, accumulating good karma.
My journey of cultivation was peaceful and smooth.
Until the year I turned 3,689, when the heavens sent down Hunter—
And then came Delilah.
Their love was passionate and tumultuous, a constant push and pull.
She ran, he chased; he hurt, she regretted; she regretted, he resented; he resented, she pursued.
