Married for two years, my parents jokingly asked Yan Foster and me when we'd get our marriage certificate and have a child.
He quickly replied, 'Let's wait a bit longer.'
I carefully calculated the timing: 'We'll try to conceive within three months, and have the baby by next spring.'
Yan Foster, displeased with my decision, spent the night out with his pregnant First Love.
As the planned date drew near, I reluctantly made an embarrassing call to his arch-rival:
'Are you free tonight? I need three minutes of your time to help me conceive an heir for the Foster family.'
The voice on the other end exploded:
'Three minutes? Are you insulting my dignity?
'Just you wait!'
Later that night, while I was busy trying to conceive the Foster heir, Yan Foster frantically searched for me.
Finding nothing, he repeatedly contacted my girlfriends.
Tina: 'She's watching a movie with me. We'll call you back later.'
Wendy: 'She's at karaoke with me. She'll return your call in an hour.'
Lily: 'She's taking a shower at my place. Want me to call her?'
